Refund policy

This policy covers fees invoiced by Layer Kernelcore for App Analytics programmes. This website does not take payment. Refunds, when due, are made against an invoice we have already issued and you have paid.

Eligibility

You may request a refund if you enrolled as a consumer and cancel within fourteen days of the day you accepted the seat, provided the sitting has not begun and you have not been given access to recordings or marked assignments. After access is granted, consumer cooling-off may be reduced to the unused portion of the service, and we will explain that calculation in writing.

Business enrolments (The Residencies, or a seat bought by an employer) are refundable only as set out in the invoice or if we cancel the sitting.

Timeframe

Send the request within the fourteen-day consumer window, or within ten days of us cancelling a sitting. Late requests after a sitting has ended are refused except where United Kingdom law requires otherwise or we have failed to supply the service described.

Full or partial refunds

Full refund: you cancel inside the cooling-off window before materials are released, or we cancel the sitting and cannot offer a dated alternative you accept.

Partial refund: you withdraw after week 1 of The Atelier but before week 6, and we retain a fair fee for teaching already given (typically one-third of The Atelier fee). After week 6, remaining tuition is non-refundable because the critique work is already scheduled against your seat.

The Briefing (recorded clinics) is refundable in full only before the recording library is opened. Once opened, the fee is non-refundable, as the service has been delivered.

Non-refundable items

Travel you book to North Sunderland, vendor licences, and optional on-site days quoted separately for The Residencies. Bank charges on the original payment, where the bank keeps them. Seats given as gifts once the recipient has accessed materials.

How to request a refund

Processing time and method

We confirm receipt within two working days and reach a decision within fourteen days of a complete request. Approved refunds are paid back by the same method as the original invoice settlement (bank transfer in pounds sterling unless we agreed otherwise). Allow five to ten working days after approval for the funds to show, depending on your bank.

Cancellation by the studio

If a tutor cannot continue and we cannot staff the sitting to the published standard, we will offer a later dated intake or a full refund of unused fees. We will not keep a deposit as a penalty in that case.

Exceptions

We may refuse a refund where materials were shared outside the licence in the terms, where assignment data you submitted was unlawful, or where a chargeback is already in progress. Statutory rights are not affected.
